Blanka was born in 1956 in former Czechoslovakia.  Studies Arts and Languages at the The Faculty of Education in Ostrava from 1976-1979, expelled for political reasons in 1979.  Emigrated to the United States in 1980. Studies at Cornish College of the Arts from 1983-1985, independently studied etchings in 1986, recipient of Emily Morse Scholarship. Shows work regularly in several alternative Seattle galleries. Moved back to Europe in 2001, currently resides in Prague. Paints large format oil paintings, also uses various printmaking techniques. Creates book illustrations and music album covers.  Exhibits work both locally and abroad.
