89 Midway Studios Art Talk with Masha Keryan.

89 is an informal “art salon” where Midway Studios residents get together to share their art.

Boston based artist Masha Keryan was born and raised in post Soviet Yerevan, Armenia. In Armenia she received academic art education which sparked her passion for figurative work. At the age of 14, Keryan moved to Boston, MA and in 2016 she received her BFA in painting at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She is currently a full time painter with passion for design.

Artist Statement: Growing up with three contradicting cultural and social worldviews` Armenian, Soviet/Russian and American, since early age a challenge and passion of mine has become understanding my surroundings. With the help of the androgynous characters and symbolism of colors, I attempt to answer the existential question of what it means to be human without the noise.
